We will donate $5 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for each bracelet purchased.
Why? Well, everyone knows someone who is afflicted with breast cancer. We have to- there are currently more than 2 million breast cancer survivors. When a friend of mine found herself in this battle, it became very personal for me. Suddenly it was not an abstract "happens to someone else" issue... because if it can happen to someone my age, someone with two young daughters like me... well, what if it were me? I observed how she continue with life in spite of the difficulties of treatment, always with courage and grace. For her, for the millions of women like her, and for our daughters... I decided to commit time and talent to this cause.
A lot of thought went in to this design. Front and center is a sterling awareness ribbon with the words "Breast Cancer" inscribed on the back. Rose Quartz was chosen as the gemstone for this bracelet not only because it is pink, but because it is believed to have healing properties, especially emotional healing. Two freshwater pearls represent my daughters; my friend's daughters; and the hope that we have the answers - "the cure"- as well as the means to prevent breast cancer- before they are old enough to worry about it.
Please help us spread the word... During the month of October we asked for your Survivor's Stories. The submissions we received are posted in our new Gallery of Hope. If you or someone you love is a survivor willing to share, please email your story to Info@mybragbracelets.com
